The expectations and needs of users have steadily increased in recent years and the role of PATLIB centres gradually evolved from information provider to strategic partner. To better support their users and cope with their increasingly sophisticated needs, PATLIB centres had to enhance the range of services they offer.
To cope with this challenge, PATLIB centres have adapted the way they work, introduced new tools and developed the skill-set of their staff whilst maintaining high quality standards.
Many PATLIB centres have risen to the challenge and there are many success stories in the PATLIB network. PATLIB2009 brought you examples of best practices in the areas of cutting-edge services, utilisation of tools, skills development and quality initiatives.
