PATLIB is the yearly meeting of PATLIB centres. The aim of the event is to provide a platform for PATLIB centres to meet and to share and exchange experiences with PATLIB centres from other regions and countries. Furthermore, it promotes communication between the PATLIB network and the EPO.

The PATLIB programme is developed by a Programme Committee which selects presentations further to a call for papers published within the PATLIB network.

The theme of PATLIB2010 - "Patent information - a business tool" - illustrates the key role played by the PATLIB centres in disseminating patent information in the regions of the EPO's member states. It also illustrates the fact that, faced with competition from the internet, PATLIB centres have become business-driven centres and have been able to transform patent information tools into business tools both for themselves and for their customers from industry and academia.
