Application procedure

To apply for a job at the EPO, use the online application form included as a link in the vacancy notice.

Each notice specifies the EPO unit and site concerned (Munich, The Hague, Berlin or Vienna), the main duties of the post, the minimum qualifications required of candidates and the closing date for applications.

When applying online, be sure to give your:

  • name, date of birth and contact details
  • nationality/nationalities
  • educational qualifications (attaching your certificates)
  • language skills in English, French and German (if you don't mention them, we will assume you don't have them)
  • previous work experience

You should make sure that your education and experience meet the requirements of the vacancy.

You must be a national of one of the European Patent Organisation's member states.

If we need to contact you at any stage during the application procedure, we will do so by email, so please make sure you check the email account you indicate on your application form at regular intervals. Also, remember to check your spam folder from time to time so you don't miss any important information from us.
