2006 eingereichte europäische Patentanmeldungen: Fachgebiete und Wohnsitz der Anmelder

These tables show the origin of the applications filed in 2006 to obtain a European patent, based on the residence of the applicant. The first table covers the direct European applications filed under the EPC, the second table covers the applications filed first under the Patent Cooperation Treaty that entered the European granting procedure in 2006. Finally the third table shows the distribution of the entire bundle of applications.

Almost half of the 135 000 applications were filed by companies located in the European countries member of the EPO, and that US companies account for 25% of the total.
