Munich 6 December 2007 - On Friday, 7 December 2007, at 9AM, the European Patent Office (EPO) building at Bayerstrasse 34 in Munich will be the site of oral proceedings as part of the opposition procedure concerning European patent EP 0 927 945, held by online merchant Amazon.
The patent is related to the "One-click" patent application which Amazon had withdrawn in June 2001.
In the proceedings, which are open to the public, representatives of Amazon and of the three parties contesting the patent, namely the German Society of Information Sciences, Fleurop Interflora Businesses and the Foundation for Free Information Infrastructure (FFII), will be heard by an Opposition Division, an independent body in the proceedings composed of three technical experts and a lawyer specialised in patent law.
