Proceedings of the "Public symposium on innovation support" and "Workshop on IP for SMEs", which were jointly organised by the Estonian Patent Office and the EPO (Tallinn, 20-24.09.2004). Presentations dealt with the role of the European patent system in fostering innovation amongst SMEs, governmental programmes for innovation support, the importance of patent information, the role of the patent attorney, enforcement issues and costs and benefits of national and European patent protection.
