The public seminar "International patenting issues: the PCT and patenting in China" (Munich, 18/19.10.2006) addressed two internationally relevant topics in patenting: Day 1 gave an update on the revised PCT procedure and procedural changes at the EPO, including information on e.g. Art. 34 amendments, dialogue opportunities, fee issues, EISR and EESR, restoration of priority, missing parts and supplementary international search, while Day 2 outlined the structural organisation of SIPO, the patent granting procedure at SIPO, including working methods and related electronic tools, and also provided information on filing and enforcement strategies, showing how European companies and patent attorneys operate successfully in the Chinese market.
