Operating the Office's "Merlin" crèche in Munich (67 places) 

  1. Awarding authority:

    The European Patent Organisation, acting through the European Patent Office with its headquarters at Bob-van-Benthem-Platz 1, 80469 Munich, Germany.
    The European Patent Organisation is an intergovernmental organisation set up pursuant to the European Patent Convention which entered into force in 1977. It now has 38 member states (Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and United Kingdom). Its executive body is the European Patent Office, which is charged with the searching and examination of European patent applications and the granting of European patents. The Office employs approximately 6 700 staff at its headquarters in Munich, a branch at The Hague/Rijswijk (NL) and sub-offices in Berlin and Vienna.   3. Description of the contract:

      Operating the Office's "Merlin" crèche in Munich (67 places).

      The operator undertakes to include the crèche in its accident and liability insurance policies.

      Operating licence from the government of Upper Bavaria.

  4. Place and period of performance:

    1. Place:

      The Office's "Merlin" crèche in Zollstrasse 3, 80335 Munich.

    2. Term of contract or time limit for performance:

      The contract is expected to start on 1 September 2014 and will end on 31 August 2017. It may be extended twice by one year, if neither party terminates it. At least 6 months' written notice of termination to 31 August must be given. It will thus end, without needing to be terminated, on 31 August 2019 at the latest.

    Six months as from final date for submitting bids as per point 6(d) above.
