Realisation of the current- and control technique cabling for the component connection of approx. 40 isolating devices and approx. 40 closed staircases to safeguard the non-open areas of the European Patent Office.

    The European Patent Organisation is an intergovernmental organisation set up pursuant to the European Patent Convention, which entered into force in 1977.   3. Description of the contract:

    1. Purpose of the contract:

      Cabling work, including partitioning / separation, for the European Patent Organisation at its site in Munich, Germany, i.e.

      Realisation of the current- and control technique cabling for the component connection of approx. 40 isolating devices and approx. 40 closed staircases to safeguard the non-open areas of the European Patent Office.

      Laying systems:

      • approx. 2.500 m cable trunking systems

      Instalation devices:

      • approx. 200 pce. isolated ground receptacles
      • approx. 60 pce. data receptacles

      Cabling and lines:

      • approx. 12.000 m installation lines
      • approx. 13.000 m data cable
      • approx. 300 m fibre optic cable

      Breakdowns and separations:

      • approx. 150 breakdowns and approx. 150 partitionings / separations

      Removal cables and lines:

      • approx. 1.000 m installation lines
      • approx. 500 m data cable

      Periods of performance:

      • From contract start until August 2018: planning, handover of plans and ordering times
      • September 2018 to March 2019: cabling work
      • March 2019 to July 2019: commissioning assistance

      Performance bond: 5% of contract value

    4. Main terms concerning payment:

      Payment will be made in progress instalments, within 30 days of receipt of the relevant formally correct invoice.

    2. Duration of contract or time limit for delivery or completion of services/work:

      The contractor must begin the work within two weeks of signing the contract at the latest. The scheduled completion date is July 2019.

      Please submit bids by post only and not by email. Bids submitted by email will be excluded.

      The Procurement Documents will be available in German only.

  7. Legal form of the grouping in the event of a joint bid:

    If several bidders submit a joint bid, they must be jointly and severally liable for the performance of the obligations under the contract. A declaration to this effect, duly signed by all members of the grouping and appointing a representative authorised to act on behalf of all members, must be submitted with the bid.

  8. Criteria for assessing bidders' know-how, capacity and reliability to fulfil the contract:

    Bids from bidders who do not fulfil the selection criteria stated in the Procurement Documents and/or whose circumstances are such as seriously to call into question their financial and professional reliability (see Article 2 of the General Conditions of Tender, available at www.epo.org) will not be considered for contract award.

    Bidders' know-how, capacity and reliability to fulfil the contract will be assessed on the basis of the information and evidence submitted in reply to the questionnaire in Annex 1 to the General Conditions of Tender and any additional questionnaire(s) included in the Procurement Documents.

  9. Period during which the bidder is bound by his bid:

    Six months from receipt of the bid.

    The ratio of price to technical criteria is 60:40.

  11. Other information:

    Contract award is expected to take place in the second quarter of 2018.

    Mandatory site inspections with the bidders will take place on 21 (a.m.) and 22 (p.m.) March 2018 at the European Patent Office in Munich.

    They will each last about 90 minutes. You are advised to indicate your preferred date when submitting your request for the Procurement Documents.

    The exact time, location, etc. will be communicated in due course.
