The European Patent Organisation is an intergovernmental organisation set up pursuant to the European Patent Convention which entered into force in 1977. The contract starts on the date of its signature by both parties; it ends on 31 December 2010 or when the number of items specified in Annex 3 has been delivered, whichever is earlier.

If several bidders submit a joint bid, one must be designated as prime contractor responsible for performance of all obligations under the contract.

Desk stability at all heights; overall ergonomics; compliance with all formaldehyde emissions limits and prescribed DIN standards (especially DIN report No. 147 or comparable). The order of the criteria specified is no indication of the weighting given to each.
Contract award is expected to take place in the fourth quarter of 2007.
Before awarding the contract, the EPO may request selected bidders to provide, free of charge and within fifteen working days, a sample of the furniture as offered and assemble it in the Isar building, Erhardtstrasse 27, 80469 Munich. The EPO's internal procedures may require it to retain specimen furniture for up to ten weeks. This will be at no extra cost to the EPO.
