Training resources for Paper D of the European qualifying examination
Paper D is a single paper comprising the previous parts DI and DII, lasting five hours on day 2. The paper thus consists of legal questions on the EPC and the PCT and question(s) requiring the candidate to give a legal assessment of a more complex situation involving a client’s applications, a competitor’s position, etc. The marks for each legal question shall be specified in the paper and will be divided between your replies to each of the legal questions, the legal basis for the conclusion you reached, and a short statement of reasons. All these aspects must be covered in your answer – check the examiners’ reports for previous examinations and compare them with the candidates’ solutions provided in the Compendia.
More information on how to prepare for the EQE can be found in the EQE study guide.
