Forum on Asian patent information

"East meets West" is the EPO's annual forum on Asian patent information. The forum serves as a regular platform for patent information users from around the world to discuss their Asian patent information needs.

During the two-day event, plenary sessions and smaller discussion rounds will treat subjects like machine translation, search tools, patent documentation and classification. Particular aspects of  Asian patent laws and patent systems will also be highlighted. Participants will be able to obtain an overview of the latest developments in Asian patent data during a poster session and commercial product presentations. Additionally, there will be ample opportunity for informal contact with experts from Asia and Europe.

This year's "East meets West" focuses on IP5 and common working tools and introduces patent information from India and the patent system in Singapore.

To support the EPO's environmental policy, we have decided to make "East meets West" paperless this year. Participants will receive a USB flash drive with all presentations prior to the event. All conference material will then also be made available for download on the website.
