Poster session and exhibitors' workshops

This year's "East meets West" will again provide a platform for in-depth one-on-one contacts between providers of Asian patent data and users. On Friday, 11 April 2014 at 8.30-10.30 hrs, patent information companies from Asian and Western countries will introduce their services in a poster session and workshops. In an informal atmosphere, users can take this opportunity to talk with exhibitors, visit workshops of their choice or exchange ideas with other participants over a cup of coffee.

Poster session

This is your chance for direct interaction with users of Asian patent data. The poster presentation is free of charge. Only Asia-related content please!

Once you have registered, you will be asked to submit:

  • a brief description (max. 500 characters) of your company/organisation
  • a summary (max. 500 characters) of the Asian patent information product or topic you are going to present on your poster

The EPO will provide:

  • one easel to display your DIN A1 poster
  • one small, round standing table (cocktail table).

Please note:

  • poster size should not exceed DIN A1 (594x841 mm or 23.3x33.1 inches!). Ideally, the format of the poster should be "portrait" to better fit the shape of the easel.
  • the cocktail table is small (80 cm in diameter) and apart from your laptop, you can place only a limited amount of promotional material or pamphlets on it
  • places are limited and will be allotted on a "first come, first served" basis. Registration will close as soon as the number of posters reaches the maximum capacity.

Please note that due to the size and general set-up of this session, we will not be able to allow individual roll-ups/banners or brochure display stands.

Technical equipment (power supply for laptops, WLAN) will be available in the hotel.

Exhibitors' workshops (only in combination with a poster)

Presentation fee EUR 180

In addition to the poster session, this will be an opportunity for exhibitors to provide a more in-depth overview of their range of Asia-related patent information services, or to focus on one product in particular.

The workshop should include practical elements, such as (live) demonstrations of search functionalities or case studies. Database providers could also consider to give free trial access to those users who bring their own laptops.

Speaking time will be 25 minutes.

Exhibitors will be asked to submit a separate abstract (max. 500 characters) for the workshop. Please note that the number of workshops is limited, so we will select abstracts according to their level of interest and relevance for Asian patent information users.
