The Sofia Hotel Balkan is easily accessible by all means of transport.
By bus: There is no direct bus from the airport to the hotel. You could take bus 84 which departs from Terminal 2 and get off at Gen. Gurko station, near Sofia University. From there the walking time to the hotel is 15 – 20 minutes. The bus ride takes 40 minutes.
By metro: Take the Metro Line 2 from Sofia International Airport (Terminal 2) direct to the Serdika Station. Arriving at the Serdika station take the exit at the rear of the train, signposted to Maria Luiza Bvd. Follow signs to "Sheraton Hotel" (the old name of the Sofia Balkan).
Should you arrive at Terminal 1, Sofia Airport provides a free transportation between the two terminal buildings.
By taxi: A taxi from the airport to the conference venue Sofia Balkan Hotel costs about EUR 8.

Travelling by car: It is a 10.5 km drive from the airport to the conference hotel, taking approximately 20 -25 minutes.
Exit from the Sofia Airport heading west towards Bul. Bruksel. At the intersection between Bul. Bruksel and Bul. Tsarigrdsko shose make a right turn. Drive ahead on Bul. Tsar Osvoboditel until you reach the intersection of Pl. Nezavisimost and Bul. Knyaginya Maria Luiza. Turn left. The hotel is on your left.
Parking: The hotel itself has no parking space, but you can park the car in front of the hotel. This public parking space is owned by the Municipality of Sofia. The parking fee is EUR 16 per day.
Patent Office of the Republic of Bulgaria
The EPO Patent Information Conference is one of the leading patent information events in Europe. It is not only a conference, but also a public exhibition, a training event and a meeting point for professionals in the field. This year's event is being organised in co-operation with the Patent Office of Republic of Bulgaria.
The delegates include Europe's big users of patent information as well as participants from around the world. In 2016 more than 400 people attended the EPO Patent Information Conference held in Madrid.

A welcome drink will be served in the exhibition area of the conference venue Sofia Balkan Hotel from 17.00 to 19.00 hrs on Monday, 6 November. On conference days, refreshments will be served on site. Lunch will be provided on 7 and 8 November (not for accompanying persons), but not on 6 or 9 November.
