Extended Online Services User Day in Munich
The first EPO Online Services User Day of 2012 will be held in Munich on 14 and 15 March.
The User Day is aimed primarily at patent attorneys, support staff and staff responsible for the technical implementation of Online Filing.
One of the highlights of the event will be the launch of My Files and Mailbox. These services, which have been in high demand by our users, allow you to compile a portfolio of folders containing your favourite published files and receive communications from the EPO electronically.
As on previous user days, the programme will include hands-on training workshops for Online Filing, Online Fee Payment, PatXML and BiSSAP (Biological Sequence Submission Application for Patents) to give participants a chance to try out the software for themselves.
In response to popular demand, a new module on filing of PCT applications has been added to the programme.
Also on the programme are an increased number of seminars on the patent granting procedure. Topics covered include:
- Recent changes to the European patent grant procedure
- Examples of "Best Practice" with respect to formal requirements
- Amended Rule 71 and new Rule 71a EPC applicable from 1 April 2012
- Opposition and the limitation/revocation procedure before the EPO
- Introduction to the work of the Registry of the Boards of Appeal: Overview and Online Filing in appeal procedure
We recommend that you register as soon as possible, as places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. The deadline for registration is 1st of March 2012.
