Every year, the EPO organises an award ceremony for outstanding inventors in the country currently holding the rotating EU Council Presidency. In 2012, the award ceremony, organised in co-operation with the Danish EU Council Presidency, the Danish Patent and Trademark Office and the European Commission, will take place at the Royal Danish Playhouse in Copenhagen.
