Accelerated prosecution of applications - the "PACE" programme

In addition to the possibility of early entry into the European phase, the applicant may also wish to accelerate the prosecution on or after entry into the European phase. To this extent, a request under the PACE programme is to be submitted on entry into the European phase or later on. The acceleration affects the formalities examination, the establishment of the supplementary European search report, where such a report is necessary (see point 229 ff), and substantive examination.
