Consultation of the European Patent Register

 

The European Patent Register, containing the particulars specified in Rule 143, may be consulted in order to ascertain the state of the proceedings and the legal status of patent rights. Entries are made in the European Patent Register up to expiry of the period of opposition or the termination of opposition proceedings. Where applicable, the date and purport of any decision taken in revocation or limitation proceedings (Art. 105b(2)) and/or on a petition for review (Art. 112a) are also included (Rule 143(1)(x) and 143(1)(y)). The correction of the designation of the inventor, may be made at any time. The Online European Patent Register via the Internet (www.epoline.org) can be accessed free of charge. Apart from the data entered in the European Patent Register, the Online Register includes additional application and procedural data not published in the European Patent Bulletin. Register data may also be obtained by telephone from the Information Offices in Munich, The Hague, Berlin or Vienna.
