Open Patent Services (OPS) deliver production stable and high quality raw patent data via Web Services.This page provides technical documentation for the OPS v. 2 service.
New OPS release: v. 2.6.1 to become production environment, v. 2 end-of-life
The previously released OPS v. 2.6.1 is now scheduled to become the official production environment on 8th February 2010 at 17.00 hours CET. At this point, the old production environment OPS v.2 will be still accessible, but only until 31st March 2010 and under a different URL (http://ops.epo.org/end-of-life ).
Users can choose to take no action. From 17.00 hours on 8/2/2010 onwards all subsequent requests will be routed to the new version. However problems may emerge if your client application relies on schemas invalidated by the 2.6.1 changes.
Below you will find a table summarising the release plan for OPS, followed by specific information about each of the 2 versions currently in parallel run. A summary of the changes between v. 2 and v. 2.6.1 is given in chapter 3.1 of OPS v. 2.6.1 Web Service interface description. Generally speaking, both v. 2 and v. 2.6.1 will provide the same data.
OPS v. 1 end-of-life
Reminder to all OPS v. 1 users: the current URL http://ops.espacenet.com/ will be also changed to http://ops.espacenet.com/end-of-life/ on 8th February 2010 and the OPS v. 1 service will be definitely switched off on 31st March 2010
