Content description

ESPACE Bulletin gives the user access to the bibliographic and legal status data of all European patent applications published since the EPO was founded and all granted European patents.

Since the beginning of 1998 ESPACE Bulletin has been published in Mixed Mode format.

Recommended use

This product is the equivalent to the online European Patent Bulletin. It is suitable for checking and keeping track of the legal and procedural status of a given European application or patent.

ESPACE Bulletin, together with Register Plus and raw data are regarded by many professionals as complementary databases and services.

Languages available

English, French and German.

Coverage of the overall series

Due to the great amount of data, the contents of ESPACE Bulletin had to be divided up onto 2 discs:

• ESPACE Bulletin Volume 2009/001
  This database includes all published EP applications from publication number 0000001 to 2007187.
  It was released in January 2009 and contains the status of all EP applications and granted patents published up to December 2008.
  This disc is updated, produced and distributed on a yearly basis.
  

• ESPACE Bulletin Volume 2009/002
  This database includes all new EP applications from publication number 2007188 onwards and all new EP patents granted after December 2008. Additionally, it contains all those publications prior to 2007188 for which a change of the legal status has been recorded in the European Patent Bulletin published by the European Patent Office after December 2008. This database is updated, produced and distributed on a monthly basis.

The Production table shows the most recent discs.

Update frequency

Volume 1 (DVD) is updated once a year.
Volume 2 (CD-ROM) is updated on a monthly basis.

Files containing the weekly data are made available on a weekly basis, on the day of publication of the European Patent Office, usually every Wednesday on the EPO Web site to all ESPACE Bulletin clients (userID and password required).

Special features

ESPACE Bulletin has more than 70 search fields which means that a very precise search can be performed.

A distinction is made between the applicant (APNM) who has filed an application (A document) and the proprietor (GTNM) of a patent (B document).

Bulletin Online has been developed to give users access to the latest information online via Internet. Bulletin Online is available for ESPACE Bulletin subscribers using the latest MIMOSA software version.
