ESPACE EP-B

Content description

ESPACE EP-B contains bibliographic data, full text and embedded facsimile images of granted European patents. It includes searchable titles and claims in English, French and German. The complete description can be searched in the language of the procedure. References to the PCT publication number for the Euro-PCT documents are available. A pilot index gives reference to the documents published in the previous 5 years.

Recommended use

ESPACE EP-B is suitable as an archive system for granted European patents and for carrying out off-line state-of-the-art searches on EP documents. Due to its frequency of publication and indexed search fields it is also a good tool for performing follow-up searches.

EP-B8 and B9 corrected European patents

Searchable titles and claims in English, French and German.
Searchable bibliographic data and description as filed.

Coverage of the overall series

From the first granted European patent to date.
For January 2002 onwards, B8 and B9 corrected documents are also included.

The Production table shows the most recent discs.

Update frequency

The update is on weekly basis.

All the data is available online via the Internet using the MIMOSA retrieval software.

Discs are sent one day before publication date so they can reach the user the following day (normally on Wednesday).

Special features

The data and images are fully downloadable, bibliographic data in XML (2006 to date) and SGML (2000-2005) and images in TIFF format. Using MIMOSA retrieval software, the applications can be downloaded or printed.

To reproduce the originally published paper document, the applications are also stored in PDF format, which can be printed by the MIMOSA software using Acrobat-Reader.

All the different data formats of the applications (XML, SGML, TIFF, PDF, TXT files) can be accessed directly. The locations of the files are listed in the open index file 'exchange.idx' stored in the root directory of each disc.

Hyperlinks are included on every document which allow access to the complete document, its family members, the ECLA etc..on esp@cenet and the IPC on the WIPO website.
