ESPACE FIRST

Content description

ESPACE FIRST series contains bibliographic data and facsimile images of the title pages of European patent applications and PCT International applications. It includes searchable titles and abstracts in English, French, German and Spanish (PCT only) as well as references to the PCT publication number for the Euro-PCT documents. A cummulative index gives reference to the documents published in the previous 5 years.

Recommended use

ESPACE FIRST is suitable as an archive system for European and PCT patent applications and for carrying out off-line state-of-the-art searches. Due to its frequency of publication and indexed fields it is also a good tool for performing follow-up searches.

The title (first) pages of EP-A1 and EP-A2 European patent applications, WO-A1 and WO-A2 PCT International applications.

From the first European patent application published (1978) to date.

From the first PCT document published (1978) to date.

The Production table shows the most recent discs.

Update frequency

Each month a disc of all EP and PCT publications of the current year is produced.
Searches can be run on all the documents present in the database or they can be limited to a selected range e.g the latest publications.

Special features

The data and images are fully downloadable, bibliographic data in XML (2006 to date) and SGML (2000-2005) and images in TIFF format. Using the MIMOSA retrieval software, the first pages can be downloaded or printed.
