The problem has been resolved by switching from the "USPTO Patent Bibliographic Data File" to the "Patent Applications Red Book" in week 16/2005
The Patent Applications Red Book now includes the date of entry into the national phase and this date is used as the national application date for US/PCT documents in the EPO databases.
Of course, as in all other PCT contracting states, it is the international filing date that is the legally correct and relevant filing date and not the entry into the national phase date used by the EPO in the place of the filing date.
