Russia: The Hague Agreement enters into force on 28 February 2018

On 30 November 2017, the Government of Russia fulfilled the requirement of depositing the ratification instruments of the Geneva Act of the Hague Agreement to WIPO. After the entry into force on 28 February 2018, the Hague Agreement will enable Russian applicants to file an international design registration request at the WIPO and to obtain protection on the territories of contracting states to the Geneva Act of the Hague Agreement including now Russia. Vice versa, from this date onwards, also foreign applicants will be able to obtain design protection in Russia under the Hague system.
