Sequence listings (SEQL)

SEQL contains the sequence listings of nucleotides or amino acids from EP, Euro-PCT and PCT publications where the EPO is the International Searching Authority.

Download a sample file

In SEQL, the data has been re-formatted and marked up. It is not the version as filed by the applicant. It is available for published documents from July 2012 and as a frontfile. It can be used as a standalone product.


With SEQL you can

  • download the gene sequences of EP files
  • retrieve data in txt format
  • incorporate sequence listings into your own database or search tool
Getting started

1. Check the sample data and information on the main features of our raw data products.

2. Order the product from csc@epo.org.

3. Note your username and password for the download area - you will receive these by e-mail.

4. Download and process regular weekly exchange files.

Format Txt
Volume Frontfile: varies from approx. 10 MB to 200 MB
Delivery Current year (frontfile data) can be downloaded weekly (usually on Monday).
Backfile data is currently not available.
Price Annual subscription: EUR 2 630

Companies wishing to offer products or services based on EPO raw data, or who already do so, must sign a licence agreement.
