The changes to the Trademark Act 2003 were promulgated on 29 June 2011 and are scheduled to enter into force on 1 July 2012. Major amendments include, inter alia, an expansion of the items protectable as trade marks, definitions of use of trade marks, changes to fee regulations, provisions in infringement cases, calculation of damages and border measures.
