Chinese Taipei: amended Patent Act scheduled to come into force on 1 January 2013

The Taiwan Patent Office (TIPO) has announced that the new version of the Patent Act is expected to enter into force on 1 January 2013. An English version of the new law has now been released on TIPO's English website.

As mentioned in a previous update, the draft amendments to the Patent Act passed the legislative branch of the government on 29 November 2011. With the new law, a number of changes will be introduced to the Taiwanese patent system. Further details on these changes can be found here.
