China: New interface for Chinese CNIPR platform

In late December 2012, SIPO's "Intellectual Property Publishing House" (IPPH) launched a new Chinese interface of the CNIPR database. With the relaunch, some new features have been introduced and existing functions have been improved.

Retrieval of patent, utility model and design documents, as well as citations, information on family members and legal status is still possible free of charge. More advanced functions such as machine translation, bulk download of data, patent monitoring, retrieval of XML text data etc. are available by taking out a payable subscription.

The EPO has modified its step-by-step search guides on document retrieval and patent monitoring from CNIPR to reflect the recent changes. You can find these instructions in the "China - Searching in databases" section of the "virtual helpdesk" on Asian patent information. More search guides on other functions will be uploaded in the near future.
