Japan/ASEAN: JPO to establish support team for development of Myanmar’s IP system

According to an official notice on the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) website, the Japan Patent Office (JPO) has decided to establish a support team for organising the intellectual property system of Myanmar. The public-private support team will consist of representatives of industries, officials from related ministries and agencies and other experts.

The support team will provide advice on the establishment of an IP strategy, IP law and regulations, an IP office and related organisations and is scheduled to launch its activities in October 2013.
