Malaysia: new IP Online search & filing system

On 6 June 2011, the Malaysian Patent Office (MyIPO) closed the old "PANTAS" online search and filing system and replaced it with the new "IP Online Portal", which had been introduced in February 2011. IP Online is MyIPO's administration system for trade marks, patents, industrial designs and geographical indications. It offers registered users a free search application and the option of filing IP applications online. Registration for the service is free. The IP Online Search comes with a variety of search interfaces and includes a synonyms search and a phonetic search. Users can highlight keywords with different colours and customise the display of the search results. Other new features include a shopping basket and visualisation tool for search results.
