Japan: Japan has lowered fees for patent examination requests

As of 1 August 2011, the JPO will lower its fees for patent examination requests. According to an order approved in a Cabinet meeting held on 8 July 2011, patent examination fees will be reduced on average from the current 200 000 yen to approximately 150 000 yen (a 25% reduction).
