Désolé. Accession to the Madrid Protocol is seen as an incentive for foreign brands to invest in the Philippines, as it would provide an efficient and transparent infrastructure for registering and managing trade marks in the country. As an ASEAN member country, the Philippines have committed to the ASEAN Economic Community Blueprint programme, which foresees implementation of the Madrid Protocol by 2015. In its statement, the JFC urged the Philippine government to accede to the protocol before that time.
