The Indian government has started a public consultation process on a review of the organisational structure of the
Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs, Trade Marks and Geographical Indications (CGPDTM). The government's Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) has published a discussion paper with the goal of examining which steps are required to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the CGPDTM's Office and make it more responsive to the needs of intellectual property rights holders and users.
The
discussion paper is available on the
DIPP website. Views and suggestions are invited by 30 November 2011.
