Bangladesh: century-old patent law to be modernised

The Industries Minister of Bangladesh has announced that the government is working on modernising the Patents and Designs Act of 1911 and on setting up an integrated intellectual property office. The announcement was made at a public-private dialogue titled "Strengthening IPR and its regulatory framework" organised by the Intellectual Property Association of Bangladesh (IPAB) in collaboration with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), the European Union and others.
