Philippines: Supreme Court issues rules of procedure for IPR cases

Leider ist diese Seite derzeit nicht in deutscher Sprache verfügbar.

The Supreme Court of the Philippines has issued "Rules of Procedure for Intellectual Property Rights Cases". The newly issued rules govern civil and criminal actions for violations of intellectual property rights which are lodged before the regional trial courts designated by the Supreme Court as special commercial courts. One of the most notable features of the new rules is the possibility of courts to issue orders for the destruction of seized infringing goods.

The issuing of the rules is seen as another positive measure in fighting counterfeiting and piracy and reinforces the commitment by the Philippine government to strengthen intellectual property rights protection and enforcement in the country.

For more details refer to the announcement on the IPOPHIL website. The text of the Rules of Procedure for Intellectual Property Rights Cases is available in PDF format from the IPOPHIL website.
