Chinese Taipei: New format for front pages of Taiwanese documents

The Taiwan Patent Office (TIPO) introduced new forms for applications filed on or after 26 August 2008. For patent, utility model and design applications filed on the new forms, a new format is used for the front page of the corresponding publications (published or after 1 October 2009). On the new front page, elements such as INID codes, document kind codes, an abstract and TIPO's official logo have been included. Cited references can be found on the B documents (if available). Application and publication dates are now also given in Western years. Handwritten text is no longer used for numbers or IPC classes, as was previously the case.

However, as applicants were allowed to use the old application forms until 31 December 2008, you may still find front pages published in the old format for a transitional period.
