Product 14.24.2

The main purpose of the 'European Patent Register for PATSTAT' database is to allow patent information specialists, patent attorneys and patent information users in companies, research institutes and public institutions to carry out in-depth statistical or patent intelligence analyses of European patent applications.

Released twice a year, the database contains bibliographic, legal and procedural information on published European patent applications and on published patent applications according to the Patent Cooperation Treaty for which the European Patent Office is a designated office ('Euro-PCT applications').

The database is extracted from the European Patent Register, which stores all publicly available information the European Patent Office has on European patent applications (inclusive Euro-PCT) as they pass through the application and examination procedure. The database includes information on:

  • applicants, inventors, opponents and representatives
  • procedural events during application and examination proceedings
  • opposition and appeal proceedings
  • limitation and revocation proceedings
  • citations and search report data

Bibliographical, legal and procedural data on all published European and Euro-PCT patent applications since 1978.
