Services	The UK Intellectual Property Office analyses large volumes of patent data. It provides information about inventors, applicants, technologies and markets by studying the technical and bibliographic characteristics of patent data and the relationships between them. Uses of these patent landscape analyses include: Informing innovation policy by revealing emerging technology trends Collecting sector intelligence through analysis of a technology space Identifying patent thickets and white space Profiling emergence and maturity portfolios through applicant sector intelligence Assessing expertise and knowledge transfer through inventor/applicant collaboration analysis Reporting geographical and applicant profiles through demographic analysis The UK Intellectual Property Office also provides searches to assess innovation for grant-awarding bodies.
Typical costs	All patent landscape analyses are bespoke and projects usually take a minimum of four days, costing £785 per day. Searches to assess innovation for patent-granting bodies cost £610.
