Due to renovations which began in December 2009 and are scheduled for completion in December 2012, Südbahnhof is currently closed. The majority of trains will thus be re-routed to the Wien Meidling train station.
To reach the EPO from there, you can take any of the following S-Bahn trains:
All three lines run regularly and stop at Rennweg train station. The EPO is a six-minute walk north of the station.
From Westbahnhof, take the U3 metro (towards Simmering) to Landstrasse/Wien Mitte. Change to either the S1 (towards Wien Meidling), S2 (Mödling), S3 (Wien Liesing) or S15 (Wien Hütteldorf) to Rennweg.
Take the 71 tram from Schwarzenbergplatz (on the Ring) to the Unteres Belvedere stop on Rennweg.
It is also possible to catch the O tram to Rennweg from either
The most cost-effective and direct way to the EPO from Schwechat airport is to take the S7 to Rennweg (a 22-minute trip). Returning to the airport, you will have to take the S7 heading towards Wolfsthal.
An alternative to the S7 is the CAT (City Airport Train), which will get you from the airport to Landstrasse/Wien Mitte in 16 minutes. You will then need to change to a connecting S-Bahn train to Rennweg.
Airport buses also run from the airport to Schwedenplatz/Morzinplatz, Westbahnhof, Meidling Hauptbahnhof and Kaisermühlen/VIC.
