Week 17 - the last official delivery for products IFD and DOCDB St. 30 is taking place

As announced on several occasions during the last year, the migration to DOCDB XML has now been completed and the parallel production of DOCDB XML, IFD and DOCDB St. 30 will be discontinued with this week's delivery (week 17/2007). The last volume of the REFI product issued will be the one labelled April 2007, which will be distributed at the beginning of May.

As of Week 18/2007 DOCDB XML will be the only official product issued by the EPO replacing REFI, IFD and DOCDB St. 30.

However, some of our subscribers have encountered additional problems with their migration to the new DOCDB XML and have requested an extension of the parallel production of DOCDB ST30 or IFD together with DOCDB XML.

In view of these requests, the EPO has exceptionally decided to make an additional effort in order to support these users. The EPO is prepared to extend the parallel production of the "legacy exchanges" IFD and DOCDB St. 30 for a limited time period under the following conditions that:

only emergency maintenance will be performed on the legacy exchanges
new features will not be incorporated into the legacy exchanges
the EPO does not guarantee the regularity of the updates
the EPO may not be able to update legacy exchanges in relation to new or changed kind codes and number formats

Those users wishing to request a prolonged delivery of legacy exchanges are kindly requested to send us an e-mail at the address inpadocservices@epo.org while providing an estimate of how long the legacy product will be needed in order to allow us for the necessary planning.
