Applicant name standardisation in DOCDB

The maintenance process of the applicant name standardisation is an issue raised by users of the services of the EPO at repetitive occasions. Due to limitation of resources this task had been kept at low priority for the last 5 years.

The EPO has now reallocated resources to this task which will result in massive creation of amendment records throughout the DOCDB database.

We plan to commence the distribution of amendments in week 50/2007. The number of documents issued for this purpose will be limited to 100.000 per week.

Quarterly releases of the applicant thesaurus will be available on the usual webpage in the section DOCDB.
