Changes to smart card delivery and activation procedures

On 3 October 2012, two changes are being introduced to our smart card delivery and activation procedures.

  • New cards will in future be delivered via the DHL courier service. You will receive a confirmation e-mail quoting the DHL tracking number once your card has been dispatched.
  • When you receive your new card, you will no longer be required to sign and return an acceptance letter to activate it. Instead, all you have to do is go to our website at and click Activate EPO smart card.

These changes apply to both new and existing smart card holders.
