Greek office mourns former President

The Hellenic Industrial Property Organisation (OBI) has announced the death of its former President Professor George Koumantos, an eminent figure on the EPO's Administrative Council until 2005. 

Professor Koumantos headed the Greek office between 1988 and 2005 as President of its Administrative Council and is credited with contributing substantially to the development of the Greek and European industrial property systems.

A professor of law at Athens University, he represented Greece on the EPO's Administrative Council until 2005. He also served as an ad hoc judge at the European Court of Human Rights.

Professor Koumantos died aged 82. His funeral took place in Athens on Monday.
