Description

After the success of last year’s modules on the PCT procedure at the EPO as receiving Office, International Searching Authority, International Preliminary Examination Authority and designated Office, the EPO is now launching a new series of four one-hour virtual classroom sessions dedicated specific PCT topics of particular relevance for the user community.

It is recommended to watch the recordings of last years’ module before attending these advanced classrooms.

You only need to register once.

Registration (see link far below) is for free and will remain open throughout the first three sessions. Final registration deadline is the 22.10.2020

Recordings

The sessions will be recorded and released in an online course room, where, if you are a registered participant, you can watch them as often as you like. Information on how to access the recordings will be provided in due course.

Content

VC1: The PCT Biotech session will provide an insight on the procedure that applies to the submission and processing of sequence listings at the EPO.

VC2: The PCT New Rule 20.5bis session will introduce the new incorporation-by-reference procedure in use at the EPO since 1 July 2020.

13 October 2020 14:00-15:00 CEST (GMT+02:00)

VC3: The PCT Practice session will focus in particular on the Covid-19 remedies available at the EPO and the PCT Direct service.

20 October 2020 14:00-15:00 CEST (GMT+02:00)

VC4: The PCT Procedure module will provide in-depth information on the PCT-CLAR and protest procedure in cases of non-unity

27 October 2020 14:00-15:00 CEST (GMT+01:00)

Technical requirements

To attend this online event participants need a computer with a browser and a high speed internet connection. The EPO uses Cisco WebEx, which requires the installation of some WebEx software on your computer. Security settings on local firewalls will need to be checked. For more information please see the VC guidelines for participants. To get the most from the online sessions, we recommend using a headset.
