Description
"Patenting seminar series" are technical, online curricula on an aspect of substantive examination or search. Each series includes up to three complementary seminars, with each seminar comprising two online sessions: a theoretical session followed by a practical session. The theoretical session only is open also to patent attorneys.
After the theoretical session, participating patent examiners and EPO experts will have the opportunity to interact via a dedicated forum.
Participants can register for the complete series or select individual seminars from it.
Patenting seminar series 1 comprises three seminars on the medical field:
- 10 and 17 February (OS01a-2022): The first seminar looks at diagnostics and diagnostic methods in light of decision G 1/04 of the Enlarged Board of Appeal.
- 10 and 17 March (OS01b-2022): The second seminar addresses typical clarity issues, such as relative terms, parameters, dosages, functional features and reach-through claims.
- 31 March and 7 April (OS01c-2022): The third seminar reviews aspects of the assessment of novelty in pharmacy, such as Markush formulae and polymorphic, stereoisomeric and isotopic forms.
Format: online seminar. Length: 24 hrs in total, series of three seminars each comprising two online sessions of 2 hrs and requiring an additional 4 hrs' preparation time.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in the fields addressed by the series
- Participants are invited to register for the complete series, but they may also register for one or more seminars from the series
