Seminar, online
English
In recent years, medical technology has consistently ranked among the top technology fields in terms of patent applications. It should therefore come as no surprise that the impact and growing importance of computer-implemented inventions (e.g. artificial intelligence) is strongly felt also in this area.
This online seminar aims to increase the understanding among decision-makers in start-ups and SMEs of the value of digital patents and IP strategies for the growth of their businesses. Opportunities and challenges will be illustrated and discussed based on the experiences of Perceive3D, a spin-off of the University of Coimbra in the field of medical imaging.
Format
2-hour
free event comprising lectures, presentations, a panel discussion and a Q&A
session. Participants
will learn how IP management can help unleash the hidden potential of
software-driven solutions.
Requirements
Participants must be familiar with the basics of IP rights, particularly the general
functioning of the patent system.
