Das Einheitspatentsystem (engl. Unitary Patent, UP) nimmt Gestalt an und wird voraussichtlich am 1. Juni 2023 starten – dem Tag, an dem das Übereinkommen über ein Einheitliches Patentgericht in Kraft tritt. Allerdings läuft im EPA bereits seit 1. Januar 2023 der Übergangszeitraum, sodass in den Patentinformationsdaten, -tools und -diensten des EPA immer mehr UP-bezogene Daten verfügbar werden.
