PATSTAT databases can be obtained as a bulk data set to be installed on your own platform, or can be consulted online via the EPO’s Technology Intelligence Platform (TIP) free of charge or through PATSTAT Online.

Accessing PATSTAT
Technology Intelligence Platform (free-of-charge)
Discover the Technology Intelligence Platform, the EPO’s next-generation tool for exploring patent data, including PATSTAT and EP full-text data sets. Unlock powerful computational resources to analyse, combine and visualise patent and external data, turning complex information into actionable insights.
PATSTAT Online (subscription-based)
PATSTAT Online provides access to the full PATSTAT Global and PATSTAT EP Register data via an EPO-hosted relational database platform. The data can be queried using standard SQL queries and the results of the query. Partial database extractions can also be downloaded from the platform.
Bulk data set (subscription-based)
PATSTAT Global and PATSTAT EP Register bulk data are complementary databases containing bibliographical data on more than 125 million patent applications, including legal and detailed procedural data for EP patent applications.
