Strengthening the European Patent Network
Fostering innovation, competitiveness and sustainable growth transcend national boundaries and therefore depends on close and effective co-operation. We continue to share digital tools with EPO member states and introduce new AI-enabled solutions to improve efficiency and interoperability across the network.
The EPO’s Front Office platform, which provides a modern e-filing solution for all patent procedures, is already live in more than a dozen national patent offices, while ANSERA-based SEARCH is used by thousands of examiners across the member states. The EPO also provides secure AI-based solutions to address common needs. These solutions have been widely implemented, including in tools supporting patent classification, such as the CPC text categoriser, and machine translation, as well as customised versions of the Legal Interactive Platform that incorporate the national legal texts of participating offices.
