In accordance with the EPO AI policy, rigorous and extensive testing ensures that our AI systems perform consistently and securely. While AI allows for greater efficiency and quality in the EPO’s operations and administration, final decisions are always taken by EPO staff. Responsibility and accountability for decisions therefore remain with the respective EPO staff member. The EPO AI Policy, Data Protection Rules, secure digital infrastructure and comprehensive AI skills development programme ensure responsible, sustainable and human-centric use of AI, enhancing both quality and efficiency for the benefit of our users.
